Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose support last year for farmers facing brutal police action  was criticised as unacceptable interference in internal affairs, has commended India for choosing the path of dialogue, as befitting a democracy , the External Affairs Ministry declared Friday.
Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava told reporters Mr Trudeau also promised security for diplomatic missions and personnel in his country - against what the centre claims are Khalistani and separatist elements that have hijacked the protest and are conspiring to defame India. ....

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, 10 February, and the two leaders had a discussion on COVID-19 vaccines as well their efforts to fight the challenge thrown up by the pandemic. However, the press releases from the two countries about the conversation differ in their version of the events.

An official statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that Trudeau informed Modi about Canada s requirement for COVID-19 vaccines from India. “Prime Minister assured the Canadian PM that India would do its best to support Canada s vaccination efforts, just as it had done for many other countries already,” the statement from the MEA said. ....

Canada suspends flights to Mexico, Caribbean; tightens COVID-19 entry requirements

Ottawa [Canada] January 30 (ANI): CanadaPrime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday announced the suspension of fights service to Mexico and the Caribbean to contain the spread of the COVID-19 and introduced additional entry requirements to discourage international travel to the country.
The government and Canada s main airlines have agreed to suspend service to sun destinations right away. Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing, and Air Transat are canceling air service to all Caribbean destinations and Mexico starting this Sunday up until April 30, Trudeau told reporters. ....
