Tanzi Propst/Park Record Kamas Valley History Group is on a roll. While it awaits IRS approval to become an 501( c)(3) nonprofit, it plans to open its new mobile museum during an all-day celebration that will include a ribbon cutting, arts and crafts, old-time foot races and live music on Memorial Day, said the group’s secretary Kate Wynn. The program will be presented by Kamas Action, a group of community members that is leading projects for the revitalization of Kamas Valley, she said. “The ribbon cutting will start things off and be done under the flagpole at Kamas City Hall,” Wynn said. ....
Listen to this report as it aired on KPCW, 91.7 Kate Wynn is the secretary of the group. She said they bought the trailer with money they raised during their Labor Day yard sale. Literally, we took a handful of dollar bills and paid for the trailer, Wynn said. Literally some singles because that was how people paid us. The trailer is already gutted; the group will add floors, stands and uprights for displays, and they’ll add a ramp to make it handicap accessible. They expect to finish by Memorial Day weekend. Wynn said she hopes to even make the outside of the trailer a historical homage to the Kamas Valley. ....
