Police searching for man wanted in Hammond homicide

The Hammond Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in the shooting death of a Tickfaw man.Police say detectives obtained arrest warrants for Kareem Gatlin.On Friday, officers responded to a shooting in the 800 block of East Merry Street and found 20-year-old Michael Otkins II, of Tickfaw, in a vehicle suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the upper body.Otkins was taken to North Oaks Medical Center where he later died.Gatlin is wanted for second-degree murder, obstruction of justice, illegal discharge of a firearm, aggravated obstruction of a roadway and aggravated criminal damage to property.Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of Gatlin is asked to contact Detective Chase Zaffuto at 98 ....
