The Janesville Plan Commission doesn’t take too kindly to a local healthcare facility’s proposal to put up a new monument sign with the same square footage as a small house in response to the Interstate expansion project.
Development Specialist Vicky Miller presented MercyHealth North Clinic and Emergency Department’s proposal to double the size of it’s existing sign which is already visible from the Interstate. The proposed sign would have been 58 feet tall and 1000 square feet.
Commissioner Barry Badertscher questioned why the sign needs to be visible from the Interstate when drivers have to make the decision to exit before they can see it. ....
