Harriet Velzy Richmond, 91, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Jan.18, 2021, in Naples, Fla.
Born Oct. 7, 1929, she was the daughter of Leo and Anna (Stotz) Velzy of Silver Creek. She graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1947.
She is survived by her husband Reid C. Richmond of Naples; four sons: Bradley (Donna) Roof of Silver Creek, James (Laura) Roof of Potomac, Md., Terry (Lenore) Roof of Silver Creek, William Roof of Dunkirk, and a daughter, Karen (Harold) Potter of Hendersonville, N.C.; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jay Roof, in 1991, with whom she owned and operated Roof’s Restaurant in Silver Creek; and her second husband Norman Sackett, who died in 1998. ....
