Wedding on Main Street: Couple tie the knot during celebration-themed LoveHendo

LoveHendo Saturday, a once-a-month event in which Main Street closes to vehicles so pedestrians can walk freely, looks a little different with the addition of a wedding right in downtown Hendersonville.
The theme of the July 10 event was Celebrate: The Remix, since many celebratory events such as weddings were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The wedding and the event aimed to bring the community together through collaboration with businesses and the public, as anyone walking the street during LoveHendo could attend the wedding. Nothing has ever been done like this, for sure, said Caroline Gunther, owner of Wag! A Unique Pet Boutique on Main street, who came up with the idea to host the wedding right outside her shop.

Twenty whimsically painted bears with catchy themes and names were unveiled Thursday evening at the Hendersonville Visitors Center, drawing smiles from onlookers as the city’s 19th annual Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk and auction fundraiser got underway.
