Kalaburagi (Karnataka) [India], May 19 (ANI): A 77-year-old doctor in Karnataka s Kalaburagi district has dedicated his life to serving patients at a bare minimum consultation fee.
In the spirit of serving the people who cannot afford health care, the doctor has not taken even a single penny till 2012.
As per an Act passed in 2012, the private medical practitioners had to put up a board, due to which Dr Malle started taking Rs 10 as his fees, he told ANI.
The doctor also told that it was his father who made him pledge that he would not charge people. ....

Mangaluru, May 7: City based advocate and Islamic activist Ilyas Ahmad Bawa passed away today following a few days of illness. He was 80.
By profession he was an advocate. He was also a strong advocate of the peaceful co-existence and communal harmony in the region as well as country.
For several years he strived for the development of Muslim community. He promoted teachings of Quran and Sunnah. He contributed towards strengthening Salafi movement.
He left behind his wife, son, daughters and a huge number of relatives, friends and well wishers. ....

Kalaburagi : , May 5 (IANS) Doctors from remote rural areas like Aland taluk in Karnataka s Kalaburagi where four Covid patients reportedly died due to shortage of oxygen have had their own harrowing experiences of dealing with the spreading pandemic.
Aland in Kalaburagi, which borders Covid-battered Maharashtra, has off late seen the contagion sweep the taluk indicating that Covid has penetrated even into interior parts of the state.
Doctors there reveal that lack of staff and required expertise are major reasons for increased death toll in rural parts of the state. ....
