Bargarh: Artistes associated with the world-famous Dhanu Yatra Monday met Bargarh district collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan and handed over a memorandum, demanding financial assistance for them.
This year, keeping the prevailing COVID-19 situation in mind, the district administration has cancelled the world-famous Dhanu Yatra.
There are many artistes starting from make-up man to actors associated with this yatra. On one hand, this festival has been a source of entertainment for many and on the other; it has been a source of earning for these artistes.
This year they are to lose this once-in-a-year source of income. At a time when most artistes are suffering from financial problems due to cancellation of all sorts of cultural activities, the recent cancellation of Dhanu Yatra has dealt a huge blow to them. ....
