NEWTON FALLS – A judge today ordered that newly elected Newton Falls 3rd Ward Councilwoman Tesa Spletzer may take her seat as the duly elected member of village council.
Until now, Spletzer has been blocked from taking her seat by the outgoing Councilman Lyle Waddell, who had not vacated the post.
Waddell, who was appointed to the post, lost his bid to keep the seat by a 67 percent to 33 percent margin in the Nov. 3 election.
Because Waddell was appointed by other council members to fill a vacancy, his term technically ended with the certification of the election. Spletzer took the oath of office soon after the election, but still has not taken over the post. ....
