Churchbridge Council does not renew bylaw enforcement contract

Councillor Gallant spoke about Environmental Development and the possibility of doing composting at the landfill; the bags used need to be compostable and the land will need to be levelled.
Mayor Johnston attended the Churchbridge Business Association meeting; they are hopeful to still have June Daze this year. There will also be an information sign erected by the rest stop or the coin monument; CBA (Churchbridge Business Association) will be donating $1500 towards this. There is an Economic Development Committee being set up and the Churchbridge Credit Union is willing to join.
Recreation and Culture were next with Councillor Antosh-Cusitar. She attended the rink board meeting and reported that all of the board has resigned except for the President who will remain on the board for 1 more year; all other board positions will need volunteers and tenders will be put out for the kitchen and Zamboni. ....

Langenburg Council discuss rest stop


Reports
Town Foreman Jason Poppenheim gave his report to the council. He discussed the training the staff has been doing. The water plant is progressing well with electricians coming next week and equipment is being prepped for spring.
The council moved on to the Council Standing Committee Reports. On the topic of Protective Services, a discussion was had with the MLA, with possible changes coming. Recreation and Culture met with the pool committee and discussed the upgrades such as the rock wall being added to the pool this season. Pool registration will be in early May. Councillor Gosselin applied for a grant for the walking path. Councillor Gosselin attended a library board meeting and updated the rest of the council as to what is going on there. Mayor Johnston presented the council with the new standing committee delegation. Councillor R. Thies made a motion to accept the recommended list; motion carried. ....

Churchbridge Council supporting inclusive playground development


The council asked a few questions including long-term feasibility. Even with cost increases, it can still be feasible with grants and more tenants.

Churchbridge Town Foreman Jason Poppenheim gave his report to the council of what has been going on with the town maintenance over the last month. His report included information about the water main breaks, the RO/water plant building is going ahead well, the lift station pump cost, calling in of part-time staff during an emergency situation such as water main breaks and the training the maintenance staff are taking. ....
