Cbus strengthens Investment capability appointing three new leaders

Cbus, the industry super fund for the building, construction and allied industries, today confirmed three key appointments in their Investment team in the roles of Head of Property, Head of Private Equity and Head of Equity Portfolio Construction.

Queensland last to commit to recycling infrastructure investment
Queensland is the only state left to announce how it proposes to match and invest the Commonwealth’s funding commitment of $190 million through its Recycling Modernisation Fund (RMF) to upgrade and expand glass, plastic and tyre recycling infrastructure.
National Waste and Recycling Industry Council (NWRIC) CEO Rose Read said the Commonwealth’s RMF represents a $190 million commitment to co-invest in critical recycling infrastructure with state and territory governments and industry on a 1:1:1 basis as a response to the COAG Waste Export ban agreed in March 2020.
“It’s disappointing that Queensland had not yet confirmed its funding commitment when every other state and territory had begun utilising the Fund. ....

25-year-old Queensland man to face child abuse material charges


A Queensland man is set to face Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today (Friday 12 February, 2021) charged with child abuse material offences, following an Australian Federal Police (AFP) child protection operation.
The man was issued with notices to appear after the AFP executed a search warrant at his Caboolture home in November 2020.
Detectives seized a number of electronic items from the home, including four hard drives, two smart phones and a tablet.
AFP Child Protection Operations team in Brisbane launched an investigation into the alleged child abuse material after reports from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE). ....
