SIX members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) surrendered Tuesday, May 4, due to the continued military offensive against them in Maguindanao, the military announced Wednesday, May 5.

GAYA: Six persons were arrested in Gaya on Tuesday in connection with an incident where a minor was forced to lick the spit of another man.
A video of a youth forced to lick spit has surfaced on social media. The minor can also be seen doing sit-ups holding his ears.
Investigating the matter, police arrested six persons.
The man had eloped with a woman of his own community. After his return, he was taken to panchayat where the incident happened. Six people have been arrested, said SSP, Gaya Aditya Kumar. ....

PATNA: There is a chickenpox breakout reported in Bihar s Gaya district. Hundreds of patients from all age groups have been affected, according to village officials. Banshraj Bigha and Boknari villages under the Paraiya Khurd block have reported many cases. Villagers from Paraiya Khurd are blaming the district administration for not visiting the affected areas even once. The chickenpox infection is caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It causes itchy rash with small, fluid-filled blisters. It is highly contagious to people who haven t had the disease or been vaccinated against it. (IANS) ....
