Carle Center For Philanthropy Raises More Than $36 million In VISION 2020 Campaign

Champaign, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Carle Center for Philanthropy is proud to announce the successful completion of VISION 2020, a vital $35 million campaign to improve healthcare for the nearly 1.5 million people living within the Carle service region. Launched Jan. 1, 2014 and ending Dec. 31, 2020, the campaign raised $36,953,414 for initiatives designed to transform healthcare through innovative medicine and compassionate care.
“We’re so grateful to the countless donors who continue to support the world-class healthcare provided at Carle,” Beth Katsinas, vice president of Carle Center for Philanthropy, said. “Their generosity helped us fuel research, expand opportunities, enable community outreach, enhance patient experiences, deliver extraordinary care, and further the education of our team members.” ....

Hoopeston, Mattoon Women encouraged to be part of research on breast imaging

Women living in the Hoopeston or Mattoon area who do not have, nor have not had breast cancer are encouraged to participate in an eight-year research program to study how patient history and risk factors affect breast imaging.
Debbie Owens of Mattoon enthusiastically signed up to be part of the research. She said she does not have breast cancer in her family, but she wants to help scientific research and the future of women’s health.
“Doing this research is wonderful for women and if my contribution can assist women’s health, I am all for it,” she said. ....
