A number of roads have been closed by Northern Rivers councils after recent rain and due to other reasons.
The current list by MyRoadInfo includes:

Byron Shire Council:
Council is not aware of any other roads that are closed, she added.
As always - people should drive to the conditions and be aware that because the catchment is so wet, water rises quickly and can cause flash flooding in some areas.

1. Norton Street, Ballina (between Fox and Bentinck Streets) - Access to this road is restricted due to a council approved event.

2. Dalwood Road @ Gum Creek Weir (Caution) WATER OVER ROAD - Proceed with Caution ....

The persistent rain across the Northern Rivers has caused some changes to road conditions and drivers need to be extra careful.
According to MyRoadInfo, the following roads have been impacted as of Friday afternoon.

1. River Drive, at Carrs Bridge, Keith Hall (Closed)
Road closed - Roadworks Ballina Shire Council is replacing Carrs Bridge on River Drive, Keith Hall. It is expected that the new bridge will be completed in March (weather permitting).

1. McPhillips Rd (Closed)
Due to wash aways at the bridge McPhillips Rd is closed until further assessment can be undertaken.
2. Shores Drive, Yamba (Closed) ....

Ground conditions delay completion of new bridge

Unanticipated ground conditions have delayed the completion of the new Carrs Bridge on River Drive, Keith Hall, in South Ballina.
Foundations for the new Carrs Bridge on River Drive, Keith Hall are being finalised and work is progressing on the abutments.
A Ballina Shire Council spokeswoman explained the ground conditions were not as originally expected.
The geotechnical investigations indicated the soil profile at the bridge site would be suitable for the designed pile lengths, she said.
During the piling operations the expected resistance was not obtainable and piles are required to be driven an additional 20m to gain the desired resistance. ....
