New Delhi, May 25 (IANS) Maintaining social distance of two metres is not enough as coronavirus, that spreads via aerosol, can be carried up to 10 metres through the air, experts warned on Tuesday, adding that double masks, coupled with hand hygiene and proper ventilation could be the key to curb the spread.

NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – In total, 33,002 people continue receiving coronavirus treatment in Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports citing the Telegram channel of the Kazakh Health Ministry.

Of the total number of COVID-19 patients under treatment, 13,030 are in-patients and 19,972 are out-patients.
Nationwide, 729 COVID-19 patients are in severe condition and 178 in critical condition. 99 are on artificial lung ventilation.

The 12-page advisory explains how Covid-19 is an airborne disease which can be transmitted through aerosols and not just droplets or surface transmission and makes a case for ventilating all indoor areas even when the air conditioning is running.
The government has advised double masking, preferably with N-95, sanitation, ventilation and social distancing as ways to ‘crush’ the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic raging across the country.
The office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Professor K. VijayRaghavan, issued the detailed guidelines, “Stop the Transmission, Crush the Pandemic - masks, distance, sanitation and ventilation to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus” on Thursday morning as India recorded 2.76 lakh cases and the fatalities fell under 4000. ....
