Galway Bay FM Newsroom – Separate data base systems run by the HSE and acute hospitals and the non streamlining of that data are leading to patients being double booked for vaccinations.
That is the opinion of Galway East Independent deputy Sean Canney.
Deputy Canney said that he is being informed that many patients are not showing up for their vaccine because they have been double booked.
He explained that because the two separate systems are not integrated, they cannot be cross checked.
Deputy Canney called on the Minister for Health and the HSE to insure that the vaccines are delivered in a logical way and that double booking was eliminated as much as possible as a matter of urgency. ....

Galway Bay FM Newsroom – Galway East Independent TD Sean Canney has called on the government to improve their testing, tracing and vaccination strategy by establishing a fourth strand focusing on quarantining.
He said that the regional group of TD’s wanted the government to implement stricter rules on travellers arriving into the country and that a ban on non-essential travel to Ireland to reduce numbers needed to be implemented without further delay.
“There are currently three strands to the State’s Covid-19 response: testing, tracing and vaccination but this is no longer enough. We urgently need to establish a fourth strand called quarantining”. ....

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway East Independent TD Sean Canney has received an assurance from Tánaiste Leo Varadakar that a Nursing Home Bill will be b
rought forward by summer which aims to protect family farms and businesses.
The Nursing Home Support Scheme Bill was introduced in 2019 with the aim of providing additional safeguards for future generations of family farmers and business owners who may have family members in nursing homes under the ‘Fair Deal’ scheme.
The purpose of the bill is to cap contributions based on farm and business assets at three years, where a family successor commits to working the productive asset. ....
