Cllr Sean Kelly has welcomed the news that funding has been allocated for the Castletown junction safety developments, with €13,000 given to the project as part of government’s 2021 investment programme for regional and local roads.
A €555m euro funding package was announced on Monday by Minister Eamon Ryan and Minister for State Hildegarde Naughton which will allow approximately 3,100kms of roads to be maintained and 2,450kms to be strengthened. ....

€9 million ploughed into Louth roads in new funding announcement

Minister Eamon Ryan T.D. and Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton TD have today announced details of the 2021 investment programme for regional and local roads.
This €555m euro funding package will allow approximately 3,100kms of roads to be maintained and 2,450kms to be strengthened.
In Louth, €4.1 million will be spent on restoration works. The biggest single allocation for a specific project in the county is  €400,000 for improvement works at Obelisk Bridge near Drogheda.
Closer to home, €123,000 will be spent on safety works at Long Avenue and in Blackrock. €29,000 will be spent on similar works on Hoey s Lane; €13,00 on Castletown Cross; €60,000 at Anne Street/Friary School. ....
