Premium Content Subscriber only Mackay Regional Council is considering a request to rename the northern section of beach south of Mackay to honour those who have served the country. The section covers the reserve frontage to Hay Point’s Half Tide Beach and extends from the entrance off Highwater Islet Drive to the entrance off McCarthy Street, south of Chain Lane.
