Portland man stabbed in neck at Laurelhurst homeless camp in apparent outsider attack

A Portland man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed multiple times during an altercation at a Laurelhurst Park homeless encampment, according to police, witnesses and his family.
Three assailants left Christopher Lee Hopson, 33, with wounds to his neck and chest and the sound of gunfire ringing in the air in the wee hours of Thursday morning, police and witnesses said.
Hopson was rushed to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, his family said.
“They didn’t think he was going to make it,” his mother Barbara Hopson told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Friday. ....
