Christchurch mosque shooter seeks review of jail conditions, terrorist status
The man responsible for the Christchurch mosque attacks wants to challenge his strict jail conditions and terrorist status.
Australian white supremacist Brenton Tarrant wants the court to review decisions made by the Department of Corrections about his prison conditions, and his designation as a terrorist entity under New Zealand s Terrorism Suppression Act.
The judicial review will be heard at the High Court in Auckland tomorrow. He will be representing himself.

Australian Christchurch mosque terrorist launches legal challenge against jail conditions

The Australian Christchurch mosques terrorist is launching a legal challenge in the New Zealand High Court.
The hearing is not an appeal to that sentence, and will not have bearing on the Australian s jail term, which he is serving without the possibility of parole.
Rather, the 30-year-old is asking the court to consider his prison conditions, and, possibly, his designation as a terrorist entity by the New Zealand government.
Tarrant is being housed at an Auckland jail, with strict conditions surrounding his imprisonment, and few lines of communication to the outside world.

Clarification bid dismissed in Cassels' economic interference case

Cassels will re-plead the complex case, which has 50 causes of action.
The High Court has dismissed a clarification request made in a complicated case centred around claims of stolen data and business interference made by NBR Rich Lister Ian Cassels.
The request, aimed to stop what the defendants said would amount to a fishing expedition , was heard by Associate Judge Dale Lester in the Christchurch High Court.
The case involves five plaintiffs – Cassels and four of his businesses, The Wellington Company, CNZ New Zealand, Teltower, and PIRM.
There are also five defendants – Christchurch businessman Wayne Tobeck and his businesses Core Civil Solutions NZ and Morath, and Auckland accountant Simon Rollo and his business ....
