Duluth Salvation Army Surpasses Red Kettle Goal For 2020
The Duluth Salvation Army is pleased to announce that they have surpassed their red kettle goal for the 2020 holiday season. According to a press release, they raised $240,291.41 during 2020 Rescue Christmas Red Kettle Initiative. The goal they set at the beginning of the season was $215,000.
Every year the red kettle initiative serves as the biggest fundraiser for the Duluth Salvation Army. The donations alone account usually for 7-10% of the organizations yearly budget. This year has been particularly challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were fewer volunteers, less foot traffic near the red kettles, and also a nationwide coin shortage.
