Klang market clean-up to boost public confidence

PASAR Besar Meru in Klang, the town’s biggest wet and dry market, will be closed on selected days between July 5 and 20 to facilitate washing and disinfection works.
Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Licensing and Hawkers Department director Azhar Samsudin said disinfection works would be coordinated by the council’s wet market unit.
“Pasar Besar Meru, which has a wholesale section and daily market, must be washed and disinfected on a regular schedule as the market sees a sizeable number of customers and traders daily,” he said. ....

Klang wholesale market shut after traders test positive for Covid-19

KLANG: Almost all wholesalers of Pasar Besar Meru, the biggest wet and dry market here, have suspended operations and are self-isolating after several traders tested positive for Covid-19.
Klang Meru Market Traders Association president Ng Soo Keong said the move involved 95% or 114 of the 120 traders at the wholesale section housed in Block C of the market complex.
“From our initial understanding, a fishmonger who had the flu last week had gone for a check-up and was found to be Covid-19-positive. ....
