New funding will enhance mental health, addictions programs at Health Alliance

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has received just over $190,000 in funding to enhance two of its mental health and addictions programs.
The Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network is providing an extra $150,161 in base funding to the hospital’s Rapid Access to Addictions Medicine clinic, CKHA board chair Greg Aarssen announced.

As well, the mobile crisis clinic, which is a partnership with the Chatham-Kent Police Service, will receive $40,000.
This top-up brings the total annual funding for the RAAM clinic to $230,161 and the mobile crisis clinic to $120,000. ....

In an open letter to the community, the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team reiterated COVID-19 is a serious threat to our local health care system.
The local health care community is under siege and they say they realize residents are tired of hearing the message but they are also tired of delivering it.
The numbers are going up, that puts a strain on the local health care system and people must be vigilant.
