Timor-Leste and Indonesia’s southern-most province of East Nusa Tenggara have been hit by floods, landslides, and flash floods following heavy rains and strong winds brought by tropical cyclone Seroja.
In Indonesia, at least 86 people have died, 70 are missing and 35 have been injured following heavy rains and flash floods, The figures will likely change as rapid assessments continue.
The storm triggered flash floods in Adonara Island, East Flores Regency, causing 44 deaths and leaving tens of people missing or injured.
Floods are also reported in other regencies, with waves up to 6m high reported along the southern coasts of Timor Island. In the province of West Nusa Tenggara, more than 25,000 people are reported to be directly affected by flooding. April 4 (UPI) Flash floods and landslides caused by torrential rains in eastern Indonesia have killed more than 40 people with dozens missing, officials said.
Indonesia s National Disaster Mitigation Agency reported early Monday that 44 people had died and 24 were still missing following flash floods that were reported from the Flores Island to neighboring East Timor.

More than 250 residents of the East Flores Regency in southern Indonesia also sought refuge at local village halls while those injured in the incident have received medical attention, the BNPB said. ....

Jakarta [Indonesia], April 5 (ANI): The death toll in flash floods triggered by torrential risen in eastern Indonesia has risen to 70, while 70 others are still missing, according to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency on Monday.
East Nusa Tenggara Governor Viktor Laiskodat warned that the death toll may further increase, citing the information he received from the field that over 100 people have been killed, reported Kyodo News.
According to government figures, torrential rain has also caused damage in the neighbouring country, East Timor, killing 27 people while eight others are missing while 8,000 people have been displaced. ....
