Syracuse activist Rasheada Caldwell has taken a new job with Allyn Foundation coordinating youth services in Syracuse and is running for Syracuse Common Council.

Syracuse, N.Y. When Rasheada Caldwell was 7, her dad would throw his coat over her and her sister as he led them through the locker room at the Boys’ Club in Syracuse. They were there to play basketball, but there was no girls’ teams or girls’ locker room.
Not yet.
Later, Caldwell became part of the push to make the recreation clubs for everyone. She remembers walking with Nancy Lorraine Hoffman to get signatures. ....

In December, a doctor told Janice Lovette that her father, Douglas Dixie, only had 24 to 48 hours before he was going to die of COVID-19. 
Nearly three months later, Dixie is alive and has recovered. But to Lovette, he is only alive today because she and her family did not give up hope, even when some employees at the hospital did.  ....
