Kishtwar admin reinforcing restriction on entry inside Chowgan Ground

Kishtwar: District administration Kishtwar today decided to reinforce restriction on entry of non-essential vehicles, cattle and camping of nomads inside the historical Chowgan Ground. It has also decided to take up conservation of the vital Sarkoot Pond located on the outskirts of Kishtwar Town.
The decisions were taken here at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal Sharma and attended by chairman BDC Kishtwar, Suresh Sharma, Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development Authority, Inderjeet Parihar; Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Zakir Hussain; Tehsildar Kishtwar, Pramode Kumar; DySP Headquarters, Davinder Singh; Sarpanch Panchayat Matta, and Rep of Municipal Committee Kishtwar.
The meeting discussed the deteriorating condition of Parade Ground (Chowgan Ground) and Sarkoot pond. The ADC viewed the present condition of these historical places seriously. ....

Kishtwar: A delegation of members of senior citizens Council Kishtwar today called on Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar and projected various issues of public importance.
The members sought upgrading of the infrastructure at various tourism potential sites, including development and beautification of prestigious Chowgan ground.
The delegation demanded laying of pavement tiles on footpath around the ground, installation of Gymnastic & other recreational Instruments like Beam, Ladders Sea Saw, fountain Park, CCTV Cameras, construction of toilets and wash rooms at convenient places, deployment of full time Chowkidar to facilitate the visitors, besides development of Gandolla from Kalam Sathar to Chowgan ground. The delegation further demanded promotion of Hargad, Menthlan, Bindraban, Bhandarkoot and Kalamsathar as tourist destinations. ....
