Flint council sends a message on budget: More money needed for blight

FLINT, MI The City Council may have found an issue everyone can agree on putting more money into cleaning up Flint.
Several council members, including President Kate Fields and Eric Mays, suggested Monday, April 19, that Mayor Sheldon Neeley’s proposed budget needs more money to combat blight, one of the most common complaints from residents.
“We just keep going around in circles .,” Fields said in a budget hearing Monday. “We don’t have enough laborers and equipment to get it all picked up.” ....
