Higgins brought the rescue team and equipment over in the IRB, and Cumming gave a handover to paramedics when they arrived. Others in the area stepped in to hang onto the boat when the patient started deteriorating, so Higgins could get on the rocks to help Cumming. A rescue helicopter winched two flight medics down to the patient, and decided he needed pain relief so he could be moved to a spot the chopper could winch him out from. ....
