Citizens have begun to panic as there is no diagnosis as yet. Health authorities have decided to test water samples from 600 villages around Eluru canal as the problem needs in-depth research.

Key Highlights
A strange illness has been reported in Pulla village, 30 kms away from Eluru town which had reported similar cases in December.
Symptoms reported included fainting, frothing, convulsions, vomiting and others, some of which are similar to the Eluru illness.
Most of the patients have recovered within hours of reporting being sick with the mysterious illness, but health authorities have sent food and water samples for testing. ....

Amaravati (AP), Jan 22: At least 22 people fell ill in Eluru city and a nearby mandal headquarters in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday but Deputy Chief Minister (Health) A K K Srinivas suspected there could be a conspiracy behind it.
This comes more than a month after several hundred people in Eluru fell ill with symptoms of nausea in the first week of December last year.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who visited Poolla in West Godavari district and enquired about the situation from the victims families,said they could not rule out a conspiracy behind the outbreak of the mysterious illness. ....
