The FIS Council unanimously appointed Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) as the host of the FIS Ski Flying World Championship 2024 last week. The Kulm Ski Jumping hill in Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) is considered one of the four largest Ski Flying hills in the world, where regularly FIS Ski Flying World Cups are taking place.
Bad Mitterndorf (AUT) submitted its application after Harrachov (CZE) could not host the 2024 edition due to technical problems with the facility. Without a valid FIS certificate, competitions unfortunately can’t be held there.
That s why the bid of Austria to carry out the FIS Ski Flying World Championship 2024 was successful again. The last FIS Ski Flying World Championship in Bad Mitterndorf was held in 2016. The Slovenian Peter Prevc and the team of Norway took the titles back then. ....
