Minister for Forests Arvind Limbavali on Friday directed his department officials to get forest encroachments on more than three acres removed immediately.
He was speaking at a meeting of officials from the Mangaluru Circle of the department here.
Mr. Limbavali further asked officials to give factual report about deemed forest after local inspection. Then only, proper action could be initiated, he said.

Beltangady, Feb 16: The mortal remains of a student of Ujire who got trapped under a pile of mud following sudden landslide at Bangarapalke Badamane Abbi Waterfalls in Kudremukh National Park of Malavanthige village here, was found on Tuesday, February 16, after 23 days of constant search operation.
The deceased is Sanath Shetty (21), son of Kashibettu Krishnaiah Vasudeva Shetty of Laila village. He was a second year degree student of SDM College, Ujire.
The tragedy took place on January 25.
It may be recalled that his friends Adithya, Sourabh and others, who were at the spot when the landslide occurred, escaped with Sourabh with minor injuries. But Sanath was trapped under the mud. ....

A youth from Ujire is suspected to have been trapped under earth following a landslip near a water falls at Bangarapalike village, a remote place on the Western Ghats in Belthangaday taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, on Monday.
According to information reaching here, a group of youth came to the village from Ujire on Sunday. On Monday, the group went to the falls. As a youth from the group tried to reach atop the falls, there was a landslip and he is feared trapped in a heap of earth.
A team of Revenue Department personnel, including Malavnthige Village Accountant, has rushed to the spot. The area is part of the Kudremukh National Park and earthmovers cannot reach the place as there is no road connectivity. Rescuers have to manually remove the mud that has fallen on the youth, the local villagers said. ....
