Zim mining body boss distances herself from ex-driver arrested in SA for alleged gold smuggling

Zimbabwe Miners Federation head has distanced herself and the organisation from an ex-driver arrested in South Africa for alleged gold smuggling.
Tashinga Masinire was arrested after he was found with 23 pieces of gold in his luggage.
He is due back in court in July.
Zimbabwe Miners Federation president Henrietta Rushwaya has distanced herself from her former driver who was recently arrested at OR Tambo International Airport for allegedly smuggling gold.

A security guard, who allegedly fled with millions of rands belonging to his employer, is expected back in court again this week.
Josiah Marietta Lekgoathi, 45, allegedly stole the money after completing his daily duties on 5 April.
He allegedly loaded the money into his private vehicle and disappeared.
A security guard, who allegedly stole several millions of rands belonging to his employer, is expected to bring a formal bail application this week.
Josiah Marietta Lekgoathi, 45, made his first appearance in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Lekgoathi faces a charge of theft.
It is alleged that on 5 April, Lekgoathi was on duty with his two other colleagues conducting money drop-offs and pickups from various ATMs around Selby, Johannesburg. ....

Ivermectin airport busts: Two accused granted bail

Court proceedings:
The court heard that Talpada was found to be in possession of Diclofenac sodium tables, Chlorpheniramine maleate tablets and Amoxycilin tablets worth R25 000.
The State did not oppose bail for the accused and he was granted R3 000 bail on condition that he does not enter any port of international travel.
The accused is due back in court on 19 February.
Babar appeared after him and the court heard that he had been found in possession of 18 085 ivermectin tablets worth just over R500 000.
The State also did oppose bail and he was granted bail of R20 000. The conditions included that he could not enter any port of international travel. ....

Three people found in possession of ivermectin tablets at OR Tambo International Airport have been granted bail.
They were granted bail of R50 000 each.
They have all handed over their passports.
Three suspects found separately in possession of suspected ivermectin tablets at the OR Tambo International Airport were granted bail in the Kempton Park Magistrate s Court on Wednesday.
Safinabenu Mahebub Belim, Mansurabegum Abdulsamad Khan and Usmangani Mahed Ibrahim Jangda appeared separately in the dock. All three were granted bail of R50 000 each.
Their bail was subject to the following conditions: they have to report the Laudium police station once a day (Monday to Sunday); use a particular address given to the court for residential purposes; and are not allowed to enter any port of international travel. ....
