The HSE has outlined its plans for the vaccine roll-out in the county, with Kerry s two vaccination centres to be up and running from April 19 to begin vaccinating the 65-69 age category. The Tralee centre opened its doors to the public last week, having been previously used to inoculate health care workers, and has begun vaccinating those in the high-risk category. The Killarney mass-vaccination centre has not yet opened but is due to open on the week of April 19 as the vaccine roll-out moves down the age categories. There has been backlash to the change to the vaccine roll-out, which has moved from focussing on professions to an age-based roll-out following recommendations from the National Immunisation Advisory Council (NIAC). This roll-out, based on age, will now start on the week of April 19, according to the HSE plan. ....
