Mining giant, AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), has rolled out a deliberate policy to grow the Obuasi local economy through the promotion of made-in-Ghana goods, exhibiting same and creating job.
It is under the company s Social Management Plan policy .
The exhibition, which was the third in the series was under the theme: Diversifying the economy of Obuasi through trade promotion.
The six-day trade fair was organised in collaboration with the Obuasi East District Assembly, Obuasi Municipal Assembly and the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) facilitated the organisation.
As the theme suggests, the fair focused more on other sectors rather than the mines as it pushes for diversifying the local economy. ....

The mining company, AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), has rolled out a deliberate policy to grow the Obuasi local economy through the promotion of made-in-Ghana goods, exhibiting same and creating jobs.
It is under the company s Social Management Plan policy through an annual trade fair.
This year s trade fair, which is the third in the series, is on the theme: Diversifying the economy of Obuasi through trade promotion.
The six-day trade fair, being done in collaboration with the Obuasi East District Assembly, Obuasi Municipal Assembly and the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI).

The much anticipated 2020 Obuasi Trade Show has finally commenced in the mining town.
The programme which is sponsored by Anglogold Ashanti Ghana in collaboration with National Board for Small Scale Industries ( NBBSI) and ably supported by both the Obuasi Municipal and Obuasi East District Assemblies is taking place at the AGA Club House, Wawase.
The 3rd edition of the Obuasi Trade show is under the theme: “Diversifying the economy of Obuasi through trade promotion”.
It is expected to bring together hundreds of traders from all backgrounds to showcase their goods and services in Obuasi. Others will be given the opportunity through virtual trading, to promote their businesses. ....

Obuasi East MP partners NBSSI to promote trade and industry
The Member of Parliament for Obuasi East Honorable Dr. Patrick Boakye Yiadom has demonstrated Government s commitment to promote trade and industry by donating a Cassava processing machine to the people of Mampamhwe in the Obuasi East District.
He also presented 18 sterilizers to barbers, 20 Welding machines and 12 hand dryers to hairdressers and braiders in the district.
At a short ceremony to handover the equipment to beneficiaries, Dr. Boakye Yiadom said the NPP Government is not only committed to providing access and quality education to Ghanaians but has set its sight on ensuring that those who learn trade are better equipped to improve upon their businesses and enhance their livelihoods. ....
