A man who was arrested by police after attending a birthday celebration at a local nightspot, appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to contravening a domestic violence order.

There is a current protection order naming the respondent (defendant in the matter) and the aggrieved which specified the respondent cannot follow or approaching within 100 metres of the aggrieved.
On May 9, about 12.30am, police attended a nightclub in Gladstone in relation to a man being detained by security for another matter.

A man was told by a magistrate to find ways to cure his sleeplessness other than cannabis.
Geno Anaru Van Zyl, 26, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to drug-driving.

On November 10 last year, about 6.53am, Calliope Road Policing Unit officers intercepted Van Zyl on the Bruce Highway, Bororen.
He submitted to a roadside drug test, which returned a positive result, and he was taken to a police vehicle for further testing.
When questioned, Van Zyl made admissions to smoking a cannabis joint as he was on his way to work in Agnes Water.
Christopher John Crawford, 52, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to both offences.

Police intercepted Crawford driving a silver Alpha Romeo on Dawson Rd, Gladstone, on March 5.
Police checks on Crawford’s driver’s licence revealed it had been SPER suspended on February 14.
Further, Crawford submitted to a roadside drug test and he subsequently returned a positive to cannabis.

A heated disagreement between two former best mates over four-wheel drive equipment spiralled into violence, a court heard.
Nicholas Jake Downie, 24, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to common assault.

On the night of August 14 last year, a group of friends and associates arrived at a 4WD event at Landcruiser Park near Kilcoy, Queensland.
The victim, 32, who was previously good friends with Downie, had recently purchased a specific piece of 4WD equipment from the ex-partner of Downie.

A man charged with possessing a 24cm flick knife laughed when a magistrate discovered it was his second weapons-related offence in five years.
Kyle David Stein, 28, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to unlawful possession of a weapon.

Stein was intercepted by police while parked in his blue Ford Falcon in Gladstone Central at 10.45pm on April 8.
