st IB) Commander Col. Steve D. Crispillo, who said the former rebels surrendered in Barangays Bural, San Juan and Masi.
 “Turning away from an organization like the CPP-NPA is an expression of courage especially when life is at stake in the decision they made,” he said.
The surrendered rebels burned the flags of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the NPA as they also pledged allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Crispillo along with Cagayan Provincial Police Office Director Col. Ariel N. Quilang, vowed that they will not neglect the surrenderers, specifically in their inclusion in the government’s security and livelihood programs. ....
