COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FIVE (05) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Mar. 04) raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 489.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 53-year-old female from Ussapitiya. She was transferred from Mawanella Hospital to Kegalle Base Hospital, where she was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus. Consequently she was transferred to Kandy General Hospital where she died on 22.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
02. A 78-year-old female from Giriulla. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. The she was transferred to Kothalawala Defence Hospital, where she died on 04.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction. ....
