AGRA: Six men got together to meet their friend at Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj all of them Dalits who had converted to Christianity. A day later, on Monday, all of them were jailed for “rioting and hurting religious sentiments” after a saffron outfit complained its members were attacked by them when they tried to stop “conversions” in the village. Police later found no evidence that they were preachers.
Shrinivas, Kuldeep, Rahul Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Durgesh and Kishan were visiting Rampal all between 30 and 50 years old on Sunday.
“I got information that a few people were trying to convert Hindu families to Christianity in Gangpur village,” a complaint by Hindu Jagran Manch member Arvind Kumar Gupta, on the basis of which the FIR was filed, said. “When I reached there, I found seven men distributing money and religious literature among villagers.” ....

Kasganj : , July 20 (IANS) Six people have been sent to jail for rioting and insult after a Hindu Jagran Manch member, Arvind Kumar Gupta, lodged a complaint that they were converting a Dalit to Christianity.
The six men had gone to meet their friend at Gangpur village in Kasganj. All of them are Dalits who had converted to Christianity.
Gupta, on the basis of which the FIR was filed, said: When I reached there, I found these men distributing money and religious literature among villagers. ....

The body of a minor girl, missing since Tuesday, was recovered from a pond in Chatra on Sunday.
A villager spotted the body in a pond near to the victim’s Gangpur village under Giddhore police station on Sunday late evening and informed the police after which it was fished out.
About the missing of the girl named Supriya Kumari a.k.a Dolly, her father Ranjeet Gupta had lodged an FIR in this regard at Giddhore police station. According to this complaint, she went missing from the village on January 12. ....
