Ice cream lovers rejoice – popular dessert bar Cold Rock is opening a store in the Somerset region by the end of the week.
Cold Rock has confirmed with the Gatton Star that it will be opening an express site at Fernvale.
The store will be located in the new Metro Petroleum station on the Brisbane Valley Highway, but despite being smaller in size, will still pack a punch with mix-ins and ice creams.
Cold Rock Management CEO Stan Gordon said the express sites were a smaller ice cream display cabinet but still had all the ice cream combinations you’d expect at any other store.

Just like the Lockyer community is counting down to open day, so too are the staff at Bunning’s newest store at Plainland.
Leading the team is 22-year-old Simon Funk, who later this week, will open the store to the public for the first time.
In an exclusive chat with the Gatton Star, Mr Funk told of his excitement to welcome the first customers through the door, as well as leading 100 local staff on their new career.
It’s Mr Funk’s first time opening a Bunnings Warehouse as a complex manager and he said the hype around Plainland’s store was “overwhelming”.

Subscriber only Just days before quarantine workers are due to be released into the fields, the agricultural department says it consulted with local regional council, agencies and organisations prior to overseas workers starting their coronavirus quarantining at Grantham. When 160 overseas workers, predominantly from the Solomon Islands, arrived in Grantham on June 7, the Grantham community was confused and frustrated with the lack of consultation. But the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries says it conducted consultation with the relevant parties prior to the labour hire workers arriving at the Grantham Farmworkers Lodge. It s important to note the site poses no risk to the community, however immediate neighbours of a quarantine site are advised that incoming workers will be quarantining there, a department spokesperson said.
