A three days prayer was on Monday 24 May 2021 observed for the repose of the soul of late Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru who died along with others in the ill-fated Beach Craft King Air 350 crash at Kaduna International airport on Friday 21 May 2021.
Conducting the prayers, the Director Islamic Affairs Nigerian Army and the Chief Imam, Brigadier General Shehu Garba Mustapha prayed to God to forgive the shortcomings of the departed souls and grant them eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus as well as console their families, friends, and colleagues. ....

NDLEA seizes cocaine worth over N30b at Lagos Airport

Barely one week after the new Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa vowed to dismantle drug trafficking cartels across Nigeria, the agency has made huge seizures of cocaine and heroin, with street values worth over N30b at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
One of the seizures, 26.840 kilogrammes of cocaine, is the biggest single seizure from an individual in the past 15 years. According to a top official of the agency, “On January 27, 2021, at about 1320hours, during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline passengers at the E- arrival hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, a female passenger, by name Onyejegbu Ifesinachi Jennifer, 33 years, who arrived Nigeria from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Addis Ababa, was intercepted by NDLEA operatives. ....

New NDLEA boss, Marwa, says 15 million Nigerians use hard drugs

Newly appointed Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig-Gen Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), ‎has put the number of hard drug users in the country at 15 million.
Marwa stated the figure when he assumed duty.

This development where drug use has eaten very deep into the nation’s social fabric.
“Over 15 million Nigerians of all ages are now hooked on drugs.
“It is the task of NDLEA to stop all this unacceptable nonsense of drug abuse in Nigeria.
“Together, by the grace of God, we’ll resuscitate and reposition NDLEA to full active life, to be effective, respected and feared by the concerned criminals. ....
