Oji's $100 Million Christchurch Investment On Track

Oji Fibre Solutions (OjiFS) today announced it’s $100
million packaging facility is on-track for completion in
October 2021. The modern cardboard box plant development in
Establishment Drive, Christchurch will replace the existing
operations in Shands Road, Hornby and will secure more than
75 long-term jobs in Christchurch.
OjiFS’ Chief
Operating Officer of Packaging, Grant Fitzgibbon said,
“Today we told our employees we will be moving to the new
modern site in October 2021. This is a big milestone, and we
are pleased the project is continuing as planned because
there have been many challenges, not the least being
disruptions caused by COVID-19.” ....

“Keep the Emergency Department for emergencies only”
is the message from clinicians as we head into the ANZAC Day
long weekend.
Cantabrians should expect longer wait
times if they attend the ED at Waipapa today and over the
long weekend, due to higher demand always expected on
weekend days and some unplanned staff sick
leave.
Acting ED Clinical Director Dr Sarah Carr says
it would be incredibly helpful if people make use of
Christchurch’s three urgent care centres if they don’t
have serious emergency needs.
“This will enable
staff to focus on only those who really need emergency care ....

Former Canterbury Medical Officer of Health Dr Alistair Humphrey has appeared in the employment court in a bid to be immediately reinstated to his position.
He was let go in October last year after Canterbury District Health Board chief executive Peter Bramley concluded Humphrey s employment relationship with the health board was irremediably untenable , resulting in an irretrievable breakdown .
Humphrey has lodged a personal grievance against the CDHB and is asking to be immediately reinstated. ....
