Tourism But Not As We Know It: Ara Makes A Sustainable Commitment

Friday, 16 April 2021, 11:42 am
Ara Institute of Canterbury has just signed up to the
Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) ‘Tourism Sustainability
Commitment’, a publicly-declared commitment towards the
active embrace of sustainable operations in New
Zealand.
The Commitment is a natural fit with Ara’s
role as one of the South Island’s leading providers of
tourism-industry and hospitality management programmes. Just
as New Zealand emphasises its ‘clean green’ credentials
to overseas markets, Ara graduates are encouraged to enter
their professional life with a sound grasp of the concepts
and practices that contribute to sustainability in its
broadest sense.
Ara also offers New Zealand’s only ....

Monday, 22 February 2021, 4:32 pm
Ara
offers a full range of trades training, as well as
engineering.
Even if gaining a
Trades qualification from Ara Institute of Canterbury may
take a few years, graduate prospects seem brighter than
ever.
According to an article published in The
Christchurch Press this month, low mortgage rates, an
overall shortage of housing stock and a lift in
infrastructure spending have all contributing to a rampant
housing market and great prospects for those entering the
construction sector. Plus, increasing numbers of aspiring
home-buyers are choosing to build a house instead of taking
their chances in the cut-throat residential market. ....

The Department of Applied Science and Social Practice are
offering two new scholarships for Māori learners to study

Ara First ITP To Gain IRD's 'Approved Researcher Provider' Status

Monday, 14 December 2020, 2:58 pm
The New Zealand IRD has recently confirmed that Ara
Institute of Canterbury Ltd has been granted ‘approved
researcher provider’ status. This makes Ara the first ever
ITP/Te Pūkenga subsidiary to have attained this.
The
country’s recently-enacted Research and Development Tax
Incentive law incentivizes businesses to undertake R&D
by making the process considerably more affordable. The
Incentive means that they are able to obtain a 15% tax
refund on their expenditure when they work with an approved
research provider. This is especially beneficial for
businesses that spend less than $50,000 per annum and that
would tend to require the services of an R&D ....
