New Hall County sewer rate approved

No one addressed the commission in opposition to the rate increase and with its subsequent approval customers of Hall County will see a 5-percent increase in their bill beginning with the March billing cycle. That billing is done through the Gainesville Water Resources Department as part of an inter-governmental agency agreement.
The ensuing nine years will see an annual rate increase of 1.65-percent beginning with the March billing cycle. The county has over 30,000 customers and expects that number to grow to 54,000 by 2040.
At present the only areas able to connect to the county’s sewer service are in the very-northern portion of the county and along State Route 365, and in the very-southern portion of the county near Braselton. ....

Water service to be disrupted on stretch of McEver Road Feb. 25
Water service will be interrupted on McEver Road between Stephens Road/Old Flowery Branch Road and Oakwood Road from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.
The Gainesville Water Resources Department said the disruption is needed to complete water main improvements in the area and urged all affected customers to make the necessary preparations.

Water service will be interrupted for some City of Gainesville customers along McEver Road Thursday, Feb. 25, according to a release from the city’s Water Resources Department.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., water service will be interrupted on McEver Road between Stephens Road/Old Flowery Branch Road and Oakwood Road. Customers are urged to take necessary precautions to prevent damage to any equipment that requires water, per the release.
