LAHORE:The Christian Community celebrated the blessed event of Easter amid strict vigilance by the Church administration and following the corona SOPs in the provincial capital on Sunday.
The Christian community members were strictly monitored at the churches for the observance of COVID-19 SOPs and a large number of people came fully-prepared to participate in the special Ester prayers with face masks and hand sanitiser.
However, the advice of certain maintaining distance from each other was not observed at some places due a huge number of the Christian community members there The gatherings at churches in the City on this Easter were quite difficult to manage for the church administrations. Easter services yester year were conducted online throughout the world, including Pakistan due to severe onslaught of COVID-19. The Easter services are being held in churches this time. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Christian community on Sunday celebrated Easter with traditional zeal and religious fervour across the country.
The festival commemorates the day followers believe Jesus was resurrected in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. Special services were hosted at different places where the Christian community attended prayers for salvation, and for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The prime minister tweeted a congratulatory message, wishing all our Christian citizens a happy Easter. Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood also felicitated the community, while expressing the hope that the day brought great joy to you and your families . ....

A birthday parade is being held Saturday for a citizen of Duson.
Duson Police are escorting a parade from the Duson Park to the home of Louella Mouton, who is celebrating her 90th birthday.
Mouton sat with her family outside of her home in a special chair as loved ones and members of the community drove by to wish her a Happy Birthday.
Police Chief Kip Judice said Mouton is one of Duson s proudest and oldest citizens. ....

MANILA, April 3 (Reuters): Barefoot and with their backs bloodied by repeated flogging, Catholic devotees in the Philippines defied a ban on gatherings on Good Friday to perform a ritual of self-flagellation as a means of atonement during Holy Week.

JAKARTA, April 3 (AFP): Christians in Indonesia celebrated Good Friday under heavy security with forces on high alert following a suicide bomb attack at a cathedral last week.
Heavily armed police and military personnel were seen at churches during Easter celebrations across the vast Muslim-majority nation, where Christians form 10 percent of the population.
