The Shelby Star After nearly three years on the job, Boiling Springs town manager is stepping down from the job. Lucas Shires submitted his letter of resignation to the Boiling Springs Town Council earlier this month. He is leaving work in the public sector for a job as a land designer and urban planner at a firm in Charlotte. I ve had a great time. It s been a great job, said Shires of his time in the town of bubbling waters. Shires last day as official town manager will be Jan. 29. The council has started a search committee consisting of two members and mayor Bill Ellis to vet candidates for his job. ....
