Bogdan Aurescu to participate in CoE Committee of Ministers' meeting on Friday

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, will participate, on Friday, in the 131st meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE), which will take place in videoconference system, among the topics on the agenda being democracy, conflicts and crisis in Europe, agerpres reports.
The ministerial meeting will take place under the mandate of Germany, which holds the Presidency-in-Office of the Committee of Ministers, a Foreign Ministry (MAE) release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday informs.
Among the main topics on the agenda of the meeting, to be discussed by the member states, are shared responsibility for democratic security in Europe, which includes the topics of the Council of Europe's strategic framework and future activities; human rights in the digital age; the CoE Secretary-General's annual report on human rights; the rule of law and democracy in Europe; conflicts and crises in Europe, as well as discussing ways to ensure the long-term effectiveness of the European Convention on Human Rights and cooperation between the CoE and the EU.

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. Council of Europe Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić commented on the developments in Armenia and called for calm, restraint and responsibility.
“I have been closely following recent developments in our member state Armenia and I call for calm, restraint and responsibility.
All political disagreements should be discussed and resolved in a peaceful manner, around an inclusive negotiating table involving civilian representatives of society and in line with the principles of democracy and the rule of law.
The Council of Europe remains at the disposal of the Armenian authorities and civil society to provide assistance in this respect'', ARMENPRESS reports, citing the official website of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić wrote.

YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. Head of Armenia’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Ruben Rubinyan has discussed the issue of the Armenian prisoners of war who are currently in Azerbaijan with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić and PACE President Rik Daems.
“Today I had meetings with CoE Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić and PACE President Rik Daems in Strasbourg. Both officials have assured that they will keep in their spotlight the issue of the fate of Armenian prisoners of war and other detained persons, as well as the anti-Armenian manifestations in Azerbaijan”, Rubinyan said on Facebook.
