Gordon Hartman and his wife Maggie have a special needs daughter named Morgan. They came to realize that there weren’t any amusement parks that she could enjoy. So, they decided to build one!
Hartman sold his successful homebuilding business to set up The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities. The first project: building the world s first ultra-accessible theme park .
Hartman gathered a group of doctors, therapists, parents and other people with and without disabilities to provide input.
The park, called Morgan s Wonderland, was built on a 25 acre abandoned quarry site in San Antonio and cost $34m. There is a fully-accessible Ferris wheel, adventure playground and a bunch of other rides including a carousel with specially designed platforms for wheelchairs that go up and down alongside the animals. ....

SAN ANTONIO – The Morgan’s Wonderland Inclusion Foundation (MWIF) has started to spearhead and seek donations from the community for Let’s Help SA, an emergency fund to assist citizens in desperate need recover from last week’s devastating winter storms.
To help the community during this difficult time, KSAT12 recently donated $25,000 towards the Let’s Help SA fund.
“We at KSAT12 are part of this community and when our community hurts, so do we,” said Phil Lane, vice president and general manager of KSAT12. “We were all affected by this storm and our viewers stuck with us through it all. One way we can give back is by helping to put food on the table and get relief to those in need. By donating $25,000 to the “Let’s Help SA” project with Morgan’s ....

SAN ANTONIO – Actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria helped deliver items to San Antonio residents who have been affected by last week’s winter storm and the coronavirus pandemic.
The Texas actress joined the San Antonio Food Bank in handing out food, water and pet food, among other items, on Monday afternoon.
“There are so many communities in need right now, not only because of COVID and then this Texas freeze, but just in life, there are sometimes people need a helping hand,” she said, adding that she’s excited to help the food bank “give out love.” ....
