A meeting held to review the feasibility report on 35.2km Buner Expressway revealed that a 1.45 kilometre-long tunnel would be constructed in Ambela to Shebaz Garhi section.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Communication and Works Muhammad Riaz on Friday chaired the meeting.
The meeting was told that the most feasible route for the expressway was Ambela to Shehbaz Garhi that would take Rs21 billion to complete.
Addressing the meeting, Riaz said the duration of travel on the Buner Expressway would be reduced to only 20 minutes. ....

"Pothole Fixer" — App To Report Broken Roads in KPK

The
KPK Planning and Development Department (PDD) is developing a mobile app called the “Pothole Fixer”. The app will allow the KPK public to report potholes and broken roads to the relevant authorities. Once ready, PDD will launch this app first in Peshawar as a pilot project.
The app’s main feature will be to
upload pictures of potholes in real-time and file broken road complaints. The app will automatically forward users’ complaints (with pictures) to the relevant departments, including Communication and Works, KP Highways Authority, and National Highway Authority, to take the necessary actions.
Majority of the roads in KPK are broken and deteriorating, especially in the rural areas of the province. The KPK government has taken this step to improve the infrastructure and facilitate the public. ....

ABBOTTABAD: A large number of tourists Saturday from various places of the country rushed Galyat to enjoy live snowfall which was continued on the second consecutive day.
Galyat and Thandyani have received 1.75 feet snow during the third spell of current winter snowfall which has increased the attraction of Galyat for tourists.
The other tourist spots including Kaghan, Naran, and Shugran have received more than 4 feet of snow during the last two days which stuck life in the upper Mansehra district and most roads were blocked.
According to the Meteorological department weather forecast for the upper parts of the Hazara division, the current spell of snowfall and rain would be ended late at night. ....
