BC principal receives 15-year teaching ban after being caught in Creep Catchers sting

A principal at an elementary school in Mission has been banned from teaching for 15 years after being caught in a “Creep Catchers” sting.
The decision, published this month by the BC Commissioner for Teacher Regulation (BCCTR), comes after a series of events that began in September and October of 2016.
The principal, identified as Jason Alan Obert, admitted that during this time period, he exchanged text messages with a “Sara,” person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl, after connecting with them on the Skout website.
Using the pseudonym “James 33,” Obert’s texts included sexualized comments and requests and exchanges of pictures of “Sara.” ....

A former Mission school principal has been banned from teaching for 15 years after he was caught in a Creep Catchers sting a punishment B.C.’s Teacher Regulation Branch says could keep him away from schools for life.
Jason Alan Obert was found guilty of of conduct unbecoming of a teacher after he admitted to exchanging “sexualized texts” in 2016 with people he believed were two girls aged 15 and 14, named “Sara” and “Hannah.”
“The panel acknowledges that the practical effect of a 15-year ban in this case is that it is extremely unlikely the respondent will ever be able to qualify to teach again,” said the Branch in its decision. ....

The former principal of a Mission elementary school, who was caught in a Creep Catchers sting operation, has been banned from teaching for 15 years.
Despite telling a Teacher Regulation Branch panel that he was simply doing research for a book on the Creep Catchers themselves, Jason Alan Obert was found guilty of unbecoming conduct in July.
