RI suspended on charge ofthreatening ASP in Chandauli | Varanasi News

Varanasi: Reserve inspector (RI) Ravindra Singh was on Thursday suspended for allegedly threatening additional superintendent of police (Operations) Anil Kumar with casteist slur following an argument over an official matter in Chandauli on July 27.
IG Varanasi Range SK Bhagat, who investigated the charge levelled against the RI by the ASP, submitted his report to the DGP through ADG Varanasi Zone Brij Bhushan on Thursday.
Talking to TOI, the ADG said, “The IG has submitted his report after completing investigation in the episode of heated argument between the ASP (Operations) Chandauli Anil Kumar and RI Ravindra Kumar. The IG suspended the RI and also recommended departmental action against him. The IG’s investigation report in this episode has been forwarded to the DGP for further action.” ....

Varanasi: Sensation prevailed in the Chandauli police department on Wednesday when additional SP (Operations) Chandauli Anil Kumar shot off a letter to the director general of police (DGP) and additional director general (ADG) Varanasi zone besides chief minister and SC/ST commissions, alleging that a reserve inspector (RI) had threatened him with casteist remarks.
The ASP also posted the letter on social media which went viral.
IG Varanasi range SK Bhagat, who is probing the matter on the directives of ADG Varanasi zone Brij Bhushan, said: “I am still looking into the episode. According to available information, after the ASP (operations) Chandauli detected irregularities in the records of police lines, a heated argument took place between him and the RI.” ....

Ballia : March 9 (IANS) Action has been initiated against two sub-inspectors and three constables in Ballia district for having links with liquor smugglers.
This comes three days after action was taken against 22 policemen in Chandauli for similar reasons.
According to the government spokesman, senior officials had got intelligence inputs of a nexus between local policemen and smugglers for transporting liquor in bordering Bihar, which is a dry state.
Following this, strict vigil was maintained, and this led to the seizure of two big liquor consignments in Ballia by a special team after which policemen posted at Haldi and Dubahar police stations came on radar of Superintendent of Police (SP) Vipin Tada. ....
